Graphene Manufacturing CEO: G-Cell Battery Tests Show 7X Longer Life With 6-Minute Charging

Sep 18, 2026

Graphene Manufacturing Group CEO Craig Nicol discusses new third-party testing of the company’s graphene-based G-Cell batteries. Nicol says the cells approached 500 charge cycles compared with roughly 60 cycles for the tested lithium titanate oxide (LTO) benchmark, while charging and discharging in approximately six minutes. According to Nicol, the results indicate the G-Cells could last roughly seven times longer under the test conditions while also operating with low resistance and limited heat generation.

Testing was conducted by the Battery Innovation Center of Indiana, and GMG is now moving toward larger cells and customer samples as the program begins transitioning toward commercialization. Nicol says potential applications include mining equipment and large trucks, grid and residential energy storage, rail, aviation, EV applications, power tools, and other markets where rapid charging and long battery life are important. GMG continues to work on improving energy density as development progresses.
