Lantern Pharma CEO: AI Spinout, Strong Lung Cancer Data and New Trials Ahead
Lantern Pharma CEO Panna Sharma discusses the launch of Open Medicine AI as a separate company built around technology developed through Lantern’s AI-driven drug discovery platform. Sharma says Open Medicine has hundreds of users and is targeting subscriptions as well as larger collaborations with Big Pharma and technology companies. He describes the platform as a potential new growth engine while noting that Open Medicine remains 100% owned by Lantern Pharma as the company prepares for a separate fundraising round.
Sharma also provides updates on Lantern’s oncology pipeline, including the Phase 2 LP-300 lung cancer trial, where he reports median progression-free survival of 8.9 months in data to date and plans to pursue an accelerated regulatory route if results continue to support it. Lantern is also advancing LP-184 in bladder cancer and plans a triple-negative breast cancer study, while preparing to expand compassionate use of LP-184 for patients who have exhausted other treatment options.
