Big Sky Industrial Targets Helium Growth With Massive Montana Project

Big Sky Industrial CEO Ryan Smith discussed the company’s strategic transformation from U.S. Energy to a helium- and CO₂-focused business centered around its flagship Big Sky project in Montana. Management believes the asset offers superior long-term economics through large-scale helium production, carbon capture opportunities, and an estimated reserve life exceeding 50 years.

The company recently secured a five-year take-or-pay helium offtake agreement with a major global industrial gas distributor and expects the project to be operational by the end of the first quarter of next year. In addition to helium sales, Big Sky plans to generate value through CO₂ capture and sequestration incentives, creating multiple long-term revenue streams tied to critical industrial and energy infrastructure markets.
