BioVie Reports Significant Long COVID Symptom Improvements in Phase 2 Clinical Trial
BioVie (NASDAQ: BIVI) has presented new findings from its Phase 2 clinical trial of bezisterim, an experimental treatment for Long COVID, at the 2026 American Neurological Association Annual Meeting in San Diego. The 12-week study involving 203 patients evaluated symptoms including severe fatigue, brain fog, and post-exertional malaise. Researchers reported statistically significant improvements in several measures compared with placebo, particularly among patients who entered the trial with more severe symptoms.
The findings suggest that baseline symptom severity may help identify patients most likely to benefit from treatment. BioVie says the results could help guide the design of a larger Phase 3 clinical trial as the company continues investigating potential treatments for the persistent symptoms of Long COVID. Additional research is needed to confirm the findings and establish the treatment’s effectiveness.
