PetVivo Reports Improved Walking Speed in Osteoarthritis Study Using SPRING Hydrogel

Oct 15, 2026

PetVivo Holdings, a biomedical device and therapeutics company focused on equine and companion animal health, has announced the release of two research abstracts evaluating its SPRING and OsteoCushion collagen-elastin hydrogel technology in rhesus macaques with naturally occurring osteoarthritis. The preliminary findings showed improved walking speed following intra-articular administration of the hydrogel, along with its incorporation into synovial tissues and minimal local inflammatory response.

PetVivo CEO John Lai said the findings represent an important step in expanding the scientific evidence supporting SPRING. The research is scheduled for presentation at three veterinary and laboratory animal science conferences in 2026, including the Association of Primate Veterinarians Workshop, the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science National Meeting, and the American College of Veterinary Pathologists Annual Meeting.
